Today's
web surfers enjoy the extra 'punch' that Flash animation adds to a web site.
With the explosion of high speed Internet connections, more and more web
designers are adding Flash to the sites they create. Knowing when and where to
use Flash animation is the key to its usefulness. Too many bells and whistles
are confusing. A web page that's too 'busy' doesn't entice a visitor to stay,
just the opposite, it usually sends them off to another site in short order.

Java Script is another special effects tool. You
can use it to make mouseover effects:

of other special effects. Like Flash, however, too many java effects will
overwhelm the visitor and slow down the load time of the
page.
